Full-featured Joomla chat component and module, which can be used as standalone shoutbox or IP.Shoutbox mirror. Definitely the best Joomla chat extension for now, not doubts.

Get more information and buy extension here.

Hi,

Bought the shoutbox, works well so far, Thanks. A question:

1), How do I get the shoutbox to show username instead of real name?

darren9, there's no way. This is by design.

Ok, Would it be possible that it could be an option added to a future update?

darren9, right now it's not even planned, so I can't promise anything. There's no practical use for this option at all.

Hi,

I just purchased the Shoutbox Chat module and noticed that the editor is not displaying for users. I've looked through and tried changing several settings, but nothing turned on the text editor.

Also, when I make the chat window small, it cuts off the area for guests to enter chat text (places it on the same line as the buttons); however does not do this on your demo page/ Your site example shows the text editor, with the Send, Smileys and Refresh on its own line. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi,

We are interested in the Smart Shoutbox but need to be able to change colours and size on the module. Is there a style sheet that can be edited or anyway to change parameters?

Regards

stompradio20105, of course there is a CSS-file. You can style any element of Shoutbox layout.

f.p.j.mul1, if you're talking about global chat window with editor, than this is know issue and will be fixed in upcoming release. But if it doesn't work even in module, check if jQuery is loading - this is the common reason.

I get now the black text balloon but without the smileys.

I which folder (using FTP) do I have to put he smiley's

Another problem:

When I go to the administrator part of the website and klick on the smart shoutbox component the icon of journal and smiley are with a oranje minus and go to a blank page with the url: http://www.......nl/...ox&view=journal and http://www......nl/a...ox&view=smileys

Best regards, erik

f.p.j.mul1, why did you installed jQuery? You don't need to install anything. There's a Load jQuery option in component settings. Remove jQuery you installed by yourself and just enable it in component's options.

When I go to the administrator part of the website and klick on the smart shoutbox component the icon of journal and smiley are with a oranje minus and go to a blank page with the url: http://www.......nl/...ox&view=journal and http://www......nl/a...ox&view=smileys

That's impossible. You can't have URLs with thekrotek.com comain in them. There's nothing even close like this in the code.

I even checked it right now - not a sign of thekrotek.com domain in the code. So there's something very, very wrong on your site, if you see this.

Hello,

I think the url is change.

It has to be .../administrator/index.php?option=com_smartshoutbox&view=journal and ../administrator/index.php?option=com_smartshoutbox&view=smileys they give a blank page

Best regards, erik

f.p.j.mul1, set Error Reporting to Maximum in Joomla settings and try again. There should be an error on that white page after that. If none will appear, look into the page source. If you won't find any errors send me a PM or email with Joomla admin and FTP access. I'll take a look.

I have downloaded and installed the shoutbox Smart from your website.
But the smilies do not work and I can not text in the shout. Seems that nothing works.
I have Joomla version 2.5.20

avalonradio, there's a 99% chance, that you either didn't enabled jQuery in component's settings or enabled it and have it already loading by another component or template. In any case, check th JS errors on page load.
